Neil Warnock admitted CLINTON MORRISON deserves to be Crystal Palace's goal hero because he is working harder than ever.
MORRISON's equaliser helped Palace battle back to claim a 2-1 win over struggling Preston on Tuesday.
It was a typically predatory finish from MORRISON, who also scored twice in last weekend's victory against Colchester.
But Warnock was more impressed with the Republic of Ireland striker's prodigious work rate.
"I don't know if CLINTON has ever worked this hard in his career, he's working his proverbials off," he said.
"But when you work hard the goals will come. And I'm pleased for Clint Hill as well - that was a really difficult finish."
Hill's strike clinched a second successive win for the Eagles but Warnock refuses to get carried away.
He still believes the squad needs major surgery regardless of recent results.
"The lads are giving everything, they are trying their hardest but they know we need to add to the squad," he said.
"We're under no illusions, it's going to be hard work until January, we've got some tough games coming up and we're a bit thin on the ground."
